I get a lot of questions on how to pronounce my name...............it is pronounced "TOVA" but it is spelled with an "e" at the end.  Blame my parents :)

I have been scrapbooking for practically my whole life.  I have albums of magazine clippings with photos of friends taped to pages with hand journaling from way back when, before any of us had any idea it was going to become this huge, cool, creative, thing that it is today.  The thing I love the most about scrapbooking is how it helps me remember & recall places, events and people.  Being dyslexic, which I am, effects your memory so having these scrapbooks is a tool for me to re-call all those memories.  I also love the creative side of it all and I love all the supplies.  You can never have enough supplies.

I am the owner of Cut the Crop & love what I am doing.  It is really not work for me it is fun & it is something I look forward to doing every day.  My style keeps changing but for the most part I think my designs are fairly simple.  I love to try new techniques & find great products to use & offer on the website.  I love Chatterbox papers, Basic Grey, Bazzill and a host of others. I scrapbook mostly 12x12 double spread layouts & have realized how much I love to alter things with all the cool supplies available.

A little about me…I am a working mother of two and married to my best friend.  I have been scrapbooking for over ten years..having always enjoyed arts and crafts such as sewing, cross-stitching, and painting, scrapbooking seemed to fit right in.  Now it’s my full-time obsession ~ I mean hobby.

My inspiration:  It would be too hard to pick just one thing.  I’m inspired by my family, nature, other scrapbookers…everyday life.  I am constantly amazed with all of the new products and techniques.  Right now my favorite medium is chipboard because it’s so versatile & fun to work with.  My style is fairly simple but I’m really trying to scrap “out of my comfort zone”.  I really like the bold flower patterns and vintage looks that I’ve seen others making.  I really want to experiment with transparencies and clear albums.  I love embellishments:  brads, eyelets, ribbon, flowers.  Okay, I love it all, I can’t help it.

I am very excited to be part of the Design Team for Cut the Crop and feel honored to have been chosen to join Tove’s team.  I’m looking forward to creating and hopefully inspiring everyone who views my work.  Please check out our message board for contest announcements, challenges, scrapbook techniques, and just general chit-chat.  Have you created something that you want to share?  Please share with us & post it in the gallery.

Jennifer Hitchcock  (2007-Jan 08)                                                                        Return Home

Hello everyone, I'm Jennifer Hitchcock. I have been scrapping off and on for close to 9 years, but the last 4 years I have been very dedicated to my hobby. Scrap is like therapy for me. It lets me put all my emotions, thoughts, and feelings on paper. I tend to be more of a in the moment scrapper and rarely scrap special occasions. A few of my favorite things to use on my Layouts is paint, ink, pattern paper, flowers, and anything that shimmers. Family is very important to me and that's where I get most of my inspiration.

Here's a little bit about my home life. I Live in Tennessee with my wonderful husband and 3 great children (2 girls, 1 boy). I have a job as a domestic engineer (stay at home mother) which is a very demanding. I am an Advocate for Autism and Tove has put a link on Cut the Crop's home page for Autism Speaks. If I had to describe my self with 3 words I would use these.. Energetic, Excitable and Funny.
I am very happy to be part of this great Cut the Crop Design Team. Its exciting to get to share my work with all of you and hopefully you will share yours with us. Cut the Crop is a great place to learn different techniques and to just be among friends. We welcome any ideas, thoughts or comments, so feel free to jump in and join us. I can't wait to get to know you better.

I am rather new to the scrapbooking field.  My talented sister-in-law first introduced me to the whole scrapbooking world a mere four years ago;  and truthfully I never envisioned how huge scrapbooking was until after I started slicing my way through it with my own die cutter.  Throughout my entire life, art and film has been one of my deepest passions, and scrapbooking was just another way to sedate that passion.

12x12 pages are my most favorite pages to scrap.  When I scrapbook, I always select the photos first, I then take a day or two to actually do a layout.  Throughout the day, I am constantly thinking about the selected photos, the theme I want to convey, and the colors I want to use.  Once the idea is constructed, I then go for it.

Embellishments and accents are everyone's favorite thing to add to a page.  The Bazzill Blossoms and Prima Flowers are one of my favorite embellishments to add to my pages.  They can add such soft detail and so many dimensions to a finished page, I don't think I can get enough of those colorful flowers.

I currently reside in Eastern Europe and am a Foreign Service Spouse.  Living in and visiting many incredible places has inspired me visually with my scrapbooking.
